eNRGy Counselling

1. What types of counselling do you offer?
We offer a range of options to suit different needs and lifestyles, including:
-
Face-to-face counselling in our private, comfortable room
-
Zoom (online) counselling
-
Telephone counselling
-
Walk and Talk Therapy outdoors
Each option is equally effective — it’s simply about choosing the setting that feels right for you.

2. What holistic therapies do you provide?
In addition to counselling, we also offer Reiki Energy Healing and Mindfulness & Wellbeing sessions. These can be booked on their own or alongside counselling to provide a more holistic approach to your wellbeing.

3. How do I know which type of session is right for me?
Everyone’s needs are different. If you prefer in-person interaction, face-to-face counselling might suit you best. If travel or time is a challenge, online or telephone sessions may be more convenient. Walk and Talk Therapy is a great option if you enjoy being outdoors, while Reiki and mindfulness sessions can be helpful for relaxation, balance, and self-care. We’re happy to talk through your options to help you decide.

4. Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Everything you share with your counsellor is treated with the strictest confidentiality. The only exception is if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, in which case your counsellor has a duty of care to act appropriately. This will always be explained to you at the start of therapy.

5. How long is a counselling session?
Counselling sessions typically last 50 minutes. Reiki and mindfulness sessions may vary slightly in length depending on your needs.

6. How often should I attend sessions?
Most clients choose weekly sessions, but this can be flexible. Together, we’ll agree on a pace that works best for you and your circumstances.

7. Do you offer reduced rates?
Yes. We provide subsidised or reduced-rate counselling over Zoom for clients on low incomes or benefits (proof of eligibility is required). Please ask us for more details — we want counselling to be accessible to those who need it.

8. What can I expect in my first counselling session?
Your first session is an opportunity to get to know your counsellor, talk about what brings you to counselling, and decide together how best to move forward. It’s a gentle introduction, and you don’t need to share anything you’re not ready to.

9. What does a Reiki session involve?
During a Reiki session, you’ll lie down fully clothed in a calm setting. The practitioner will lightly place their hands on or just above your body to encourage the natural flow of energy. Clients often describe feeling warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of relaxation.

10. Can I combine counselling with Reiki or mindfulness?
Yes. Many clients find this combination especially helpful. Counselling helps you explore and process emotions, while Reiki or mindfulness can support relaxation, balance, and resilience — creating a holistic approach to your wellbeing.

11. Do I need to prepare anything before my session?
Not at all. For counselling, just bring yourself and whatever you feel ready to share. For Reiki or mindfulness, wear something comfortable. If you’re attending Zoom or telephone sessions, try to find a quiet, private space where you feel at ease.

12. How do I book a session?
You can get in touch with us directly by phone, email, or through our website’s contact form. We’ll be happy to answer any questions and arrange a time that works for you.

13. How do I know if counselling is right for me?
If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, low in mood, suffered grief or loss or simply want space to reflect on life’s challenges, counselling could help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit — many people use counselling for personal growth and self-understanding.

14. How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some people find a few sessions helpful for short-term issues, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll review your progress together and adjust according to your needs.

15. What if I feel nervous about starting?
It’s completely natural to feel nervous before your first session. Our counsellors understand this and will take things at your pace. There’s no pressure to share everything straight away — the space is yours to use as you feel comfortable.

16. Can I stop counselling at any time?
Yes. You’re in control of your sessions and can stop whenever you feel ready. It can be helpful to have a final session to reflect on your progress and bring things to a natural close, but this is entirely your choice.

17. Do you offer support for specific issues?
Yes. Our counsellors are experienced in supporting clients with a wide range of issues. We tailor sessions to your individual situation.

18. What’s the difference between counselling and holistic therapies like Reiki or mindfulness?
Counselling is a talking therapy where you explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with professional support. Reiki and mindfulness are holistic therapies that focus on relaxation, balance, and emotional wellbeing. Many clients choose to combine them for a more rounded approach to their health.

19. Where do Walk and Talk sessions take place?
Walk and Talk sessions are held in our agreed outdoor location that is calm, private, and safe. We’ll discuss options with you beforehand so you feel comfortable with the setting.

20. Do you work with young people as well as adults?
Yes, we offer counselling for both adults and young people. Sessions are always tailored to the individual’s age, needs, and comfort level.

21. Is Reiki safe?
Yes. Reiki is a natural, non-invasive therapy that is safe for everyone. It can be used alongside medical treatment or other therapies, but it should not replace medical care.

22. What if I can’t make my session?
We understand that things come up. We ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule, so we can offer the space to someone else. Please check our cancellation policy when booking.

23. Do you offer gift vouchers for Reiki or wellbeing sessions?
Yes, we offer vouchers which make thoughtful gifts for friends or loved ones who may benefit from a relaxing or restorative experience.

25. Are you insured?
Yes we have full public and personal liability insurance, out certificates can be seen on request.
